clouds

....thank you ryan for wearing your helmet. xox

after meeting ryan for breakfast wednesday... i went on a photo excursion to capture some stock images for Designvox. The sky was filled with the most amazing clouds...i was surrounded by storms. photographing things can romanticize a scene. it is incredible to me that some scenes can not be captured. i think it makes me cherish that moment even more! here are some textured images from around the city.

i'd like to write blues music... if i emptied my mind enough maybe i could.

many things have been stirring as of late.... mostly the need for dance. my physical expression has been boxed & it is searching for a way out. i feel like if i were on stage again, i would have So much more to give! i truly miss performing.

a dough-nut

This crumpled wet piece of parchment has some thoughts scribbled on it from my overnight at work last night. it is wet from being in my pocket on the bike ride home at 7 this morning. i biked through a summer rain storm! which is pretty scary to ride through when you've been awake for 22 hours straight.

i was thinking about all the cupcakes i've been eating and how my body feels like crap from eating them and feeling guilty for not taking better care of myself. i've been thinking so much about how our body is a temple. how we are Given this one body to nourish not only physically but mentally as well as emotionally & socially! how awesome is that?! pretty sweet i think. so my question is; what are we feeding ourselves? who are the people that we allow to pour into us? are the foods that we consume pure...will they sustain us for the work that we have been created to create. it is exciting and marvelous to think about.

this photo of connor & me when we were little is sitting on my windowsill, it is one of my favorites.

fingers & toes

new view from around our new place.
i have had the nicest couple of days! my wonderful mother surprised me with a livingsocial deal for a mani pedi from West loop nails Spa, off Halstead. They did such a nice job, & it's so nice being pampered! these are the fun summery colors i chose. i feel so fancy, im such a giggly little girl i can't help but to smile when i look at them.

my $2 ikea clock ticks so loud i had to take the batteries out so i could fall asleep.

i'm in the process of writing Gap Inc. a letter about how they should make their effort for 'social responsibility' known. i am really excited about what i've found out about the company because they do care a lot about the world and they are trying to be a responsible company (regarding their impact on the earth). i think they need to make this known! as well as enforcing it within the working environment.
i've been frustrated with the fact that the flagship chicago Gap on michigan ave. does not recycle. i'm trying to figure out how to approach the situation, because i am sick of sitting around and doing nothing. this should be exciting! have a marvelous day!
i really love these photos of shea, i figured i would share another.

the only warm weekend from this cold summer

i was thinking today about why we try to mimic the past. what is it that we like about antiqued photos & 50's dress? or any era of dress for that matter....(besides most of the 90's). are we trying to escape? ...trying to place ourselves at a different point in time? is it just the style of today? i hope metallic futuristic is next!
this is me and my puppy scotch (photo cred: shea), our birthday is coming up! woohoo! these are photos from festival weekend which was the 1st weekend in June. i love visiting GR, i freakin miss my family.
